LEGO fun

Exciting update 28th February 2015
My card was included in the Paper Issues Fan Feature Friday

LEGO cards are fun to make!

This huge A5 card (A4 card stock folded in 1/2) has fun Lego blocks made using bundles of inked circles foam dotted onto each square "block",  the larger blocks were created using 1" circles.

I have entered my LEGO card in the Paper Issues NEW ISSUE - It's Hip To Be Square

.

HELLO - It's hip to be square

I used the Squared Die from Paper Smooches for the "lattice" panel of my card

I layered 4 "hello" words on top of each other for some extra dimension & POP.
This GORGEOUS "hello" is from the Hello Word Dies set from Paper Smooches  http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/Hello_Words_Dies_p/j1d-14-116.htm

The patterned paper is from the Kaisercraft Basecoat 6 1/2 x 6 1/2" paper pad https://www.kaisercraft.com.au/newsite/products.php?prod=PP919

The flowers & leaves were punched out from plain Canson A4 cardstock using the following Fiskars punches: Small Flower Lever Punch, Medium Flower Lever Punch, Medium Poppy Lever Punch and Branching Out Limited Edition Fiskars Squeeze Punch.  The small "poppy" flower is from Francheville.
Here is an angled view of my card to show the dimension of the layered sentiment and flowers.

YOU & ME together

  • This card was made using the Wild & Free Digital Kit by Glitz Design.
  • I selected some of the hearts and changed them to red then printed the background on textured cardstock (ink jet printer), trimmed to size, then layered onto a black card base.
  • The sentiment a combination of two digital elements, printed & layered the same as the base then foam dotted in place for extra dimension.
Challenges:
  1. I have entered my card in the Paper Issues: New Issue - The Perfect Pairing found here:  http://paperissues.blogspot.com.au/2015/02/new-issue-perfect-pairing-with-epiphany.html

Hearts, arrows, being together => there is lots of love for my perfect pairing.

SO HAPPY together

  • This card was made using the Black & White Digital Kit by Glitz Design.
  • I selected a design, cropped to size then printed the background on textured cardstock (ink jet printer), trimmed to size, then layered onto a white card base.
  • I rounded two of the corners using my Fiskars 1/2 round corner squeeze punch.
  • The top, round sentiment was resized, printed then fussy cut, edges inked then foam dotted in place - love the big ampersand.
  • The 2nd sentiment is a combination of a digital element, with the sentiment inserted, it was then printed, fussy cut, edges inked then foam dotted in place.  It's hard to see the dimension of the raised sentiments but trust me, they pop!
  • I really like the modern design of this card, very different from my normal style :)

Sympathy card

  • My card is 6" x 6" square.
  • I used the beautiful "with sympathy" sentiment stamp from the fabulous "A Tree For All Seasons" stamp set by Winnie & Walter.
  • I stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink on vellum then heat embossed using WOW "Calypso" glitter embossing powder, it melts like butter and the glitter sparkles beautifully.
  • The sentiment panel is Couture Creations "2 Tags & Bird Branch" die set, I die cut then layered vellum sentiment on cardstock, then double cut the frame to go on top.
  • The patterned paper is Kaisercraft Elegance 6 1/2 x 6 1/2" paper pad.
  • The bird is Fiskars Jenni Bowlin Flight squeeze punch, I layered 3 together for dimension.
  • The feathers are Feathers dies from Paper Smooches.

Zentangle Heartstrings

My first attempt at Zentangle.

  • I created "Heartstrings" using the tutorial by Helen Williams found here: http://tanglepatterns.com/2013/02/how-to-draw-heartstrings.html
  • I used a Becky Higgins Project Life Black 05 journaling pen on white Canson cardstock to create my heartstrings, really need to try 03 or even 01 for a more delicate design.
  • After struggling with where to cut my panel, my dear husband came up with the wonderful idea to fussy cut them out - LOVE how they turned out!!!
  • The sentiment is from the Sizzix Stephanie Barnard Regal Card Stand-Ups Framelits Die Set - I layered 3 together for dimension, adhered perfectly together with Tombow Mono Multi Glue.
  • The flourish is the "Ivy Tendrils" die from Poppystamps.
  • I used an A4 sheet of black Canson cardstock scored & folded in half to make the card base, the red & white panels are Canson cardstock too.  My card is sitting on some red cardstock with some black hearts scattered beside it ... I've seen it with sequins & thought I would give it a try :)
