Purple rain makes . . .

. . . purple snowmen

Yes, it's another purple card!

The colour purple has been on my mind since Becca Cruger announced her annual The Hop To STOP, so I'm taking this opportunity to remind everyone that it is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and that Becca is uniting papercrafters all over the world to increase awareness for the victims of domestic violence.  You can read all about it on my earlier post HERE and HEREas well as heading on over to Becca's post HERE.  I hope that you will get creative and share your purple projects for this great cause.

My card is a 6x6" top folding shaker.  The super cute snowman is the  Winter Circle Sentiments - Let It Snow digital stamp from Bugaboo Stamps

I printed off two copies of the image, one for the background in the window and one to make the shaker window.  I fussy cut the window out using scissors then used a Memento Dual Tip Marker to blacken the inner edge.  I used a black Copic marker to colour the foam on the inside of the shaker window too.
I coloured the image using Copic markers (details below).
After the colouring was dry, I went over the entire image panel with Clear Wink Of Stella to add a subtle sparkle.

"randomness" can cause fun moments
... the purple confetti bit has fallen on the snowman's smiling face like a freckle.

The tubes of sequins had the tiny negative bits as well and because I didn't have a variety of sizes in purple, I decided to use them too, filling the shaker well with them all.
I think the sequins, "confetti bits" and seed beads make for a pretty mix together.

Here are couple of pics showing the Wink Of Stella sparkle and the variety of the shaker mix.

Pretty purple birthday shaker

With the background set, I hope you like my card.
I really enjoyed the birthday shaker card I made earlier this month (HERE) and just had to add another to our much needed feminine birthday card stash.

The tubes of sequins had the tiny negative bits as well and because I didn't have a variety of sizes in purple, I decided to use them too, filling the shaker well with them all, even adhering some to the card front as accents.

I think the sequins, "confetti bits" and seed beads make for a pretty mix together.

Crafty Gals Corner - Challenge #95 - Anything Goes

It's time for another challenge with us at the
This week we are letting our creative juices flow with

Our sponsors this week are:

Prize ~ $10 Gift Certificate

Prize ~ 7 digital images

Prize ~ 3 digital images

Today I have used the cute Winter Circle Sentiments - Let It Snow digital stamp from Bugaboo Stamps, one of our generous sponsors this week.

As soon as I saw this cute little snowman inside the circle sentiment, I knew it had to become a shaker card.

My card is a 6" x 6" top fold.
I printed off two copies of the image and coloured one with Copic markers, details below.  I applied Stickles to the hollow snowballs.  Once dry, I applied Clear Wink Of Stella to the entire circle panel.

I took the 2nd copy and fussy cut image panel out from the sentiment circle and ran around the inner edge with a Versamark marker.  I used the window to mark a circle on a sheet of black foam then fussy cut it out slightly larger.  I used a T-ruler to measure an even distance from the circle to cut the window panel, adhered an acetate panel then a slightly larger black mat panel and slightly smaller black foam window panel, being careful to align the inner windows.

I applied some Clear Wink Of Stella to some smooth black cardstock then punched it using the Fiskars Effervescence border punch, collecting all the tiny circles and ovals to use as confetti inside the shaker window ... the circles and ovals coordinate with the background of the image.

Remember the middle from the second copy?
Well I fussy cut out the round and oval snowballs, inked around the edges with a Versamark marker then applied Stickles to the middle of each one to use as more confetti ... with hindsight, I should have applied the Stickles before fussy cutting, it would have been a lot less fiddly.

Once the Stickles were dry, I adhered the coloured panel to a 6x6 card base and added a pile of confetti over it, leaving space around the edges to adhere the top panel with the sentiment window and foam.  I used a liquid adhesive so that I had plenty of time to align the window and edges.

On a side note, I have to say that I am super excited to have improved things on the "toner bleed" front.  Now I can use the palest of Copic colours without fear.  I know it's difficult to see, but I used Cool Grey 0 and the "0" marker to add shading & dimension to the snowman.  With the subtle Wink Of Stella sparkle, I am really happy with how this cute image panel turned out.
